Symptoms of BedwettingThe bedwetting is not a disease in itself; instead it is a symptom like any other disorders. Bedwetting symptoms mainly include involuntary urination during the sleep and incontinence. The enuresis symptoms normally appear due to many reasons. In adulthood, pregnancy may cause urinary incontinence in some woman. Urinary incontinence is subcategorized as urge incontinence, stress incontinence and overflow incontinence. Urinary stones also lead to enuresis symptoms. Prostate disorders such as enlarged prostate also may contribute to bedwetting symptoms. Aging, urinary tract infection, uterine prolapsed, cystitis and surgery all leads to enuresis. The bedwetting is not considered as any disease instead it itself is symptom of many disorders, physical or mental in nature. The bed wetter normally a sound sleeper and cannot remember any occurrence of the wetting in morning. Usually bedwetting is common in boys than girls. Enuresis symptoms may present due to sleep walking or nightmares. These disorders are inherited and can be treated medically. A noticeable percentage of bed wetter displays attention deficit disorders and other learning difficulty as bedwetting symptoms. They usually fail to focus or concentrate on any thing. The children having bedwetting symptoms may wake up slowly in the morning and have arrogant nature for a little more time after leaving bed. Along with other symptoms, day time leaking or frequent urinating is also present in many bed wetters. An occasional bedwetting cannot be considered as a bedwetting symptom because this can be caused by any physical or mental stress of temporary nature. The bedwetting caused by sleep disorders and genetic disorders may not be recoverable in its own. The bed wetter normally overcomes the habit with the age. But the sleep disorder or any other inherited genetic disorders do not disappear in its own and to be treated. The drugs which are normally used in the cases may not always stop it instead it freezes the bedwetting. When the medicine is stopped, the bedwetting symptoms reappear. The enuresis symptoms include frequent voiding either involuntary or voluntary during sleep and day time. The bed wetter is to be identified with the enuresis symptoms such as frequent urge for urination, burning sensation during voiding, dribbling during voiding, pinkish or cloudy nature of urine, incontinence and constipation. The frequency of urination differs from adults and children. The frequency of average adult is three to four times during day time and for a child, it may be up to twelve times. The symptoms are caused by reasons such as genetic disorders, a family history of the same, late maturation, any event of stress in life, late waking up, small size of bladder, recurrent constipation, excessive production of urine and any other urinary tract infection. |
