How to control and prevent bedwetting

The bedwetting control is not possible to little kids as the bladder does not make any signal as to the volume of the bladder. In infants, the bladder automatically empties when it is full and this is very common. But when the habit continues to be present for another few years, it is called as bedwetting or primary enuresis. Enuresis prevention can be achieved by learning and training the brain to understand the need of urinating.

Normally, the bladder does not signal the brain to inform the need of urinating whereas when the children get older, the bladder sends signal to brain. But if the brain does not respond to the urge, then bedwetting happen. The bedwetting prevention can be achieved by practicing to understand the signal and with some other methods. While in the learning process of bedwetting control, it is common to wet the bed occasionally. When you teach your kids to use the toilet, you must be patient as the speed of the learning process of bedwetting control will not be achieved as you expected. The bladder control is normally achieved with age and practice. So you must be positive and boosting to make the kids learn bedwetting control quickly.

You may avoid or trim down the bedwetting by restricting the fluid consumption of the children during night time or before bed time. But do not simply ban the liquids, which will create more problems. Instead, avoid drinks like coffee, tea and other carbonated drinks such as cola etc. Further, you can insist your child to go to toilet instead of wetting the bed. Persistent suggestion will affect the brain to remember few things. However, this persistent suggestion method of enuresis prevention will not work like magic. It may sometimes measure the length of your patience.

Bedwetting prevention is not always giving cent percent result. So you must not scold your child for the same as this will lead to decreased self-respect and shameful. Asking help from the children while changing the beddings in the morning will remind the brain about the incident and can be used as bedwetting control. The fluid intake of the kids can be controlled as a part of enuresis prevention such as the less percentage of the daily needed intake in the evening time. A major share of the same is to be consumed in the morning and noon than the evening which will reduce the urine production. Caffeine rich drinks must be avoided as this substance will increase the urine production. Emptying the bladder before going to bed will give space for lasting the need of urinating. This method of bedwetting prevention along with a larger sized bladder will work in almost every affected. Urinary tract infection or vaginitis can cause bedwetting. Therefore, a good bedwetting control scheme should be consisting of preventing these infections.

Bladder control exercises, altering the food habits, using moisture alarm to wake the child during wetting, and persistent reminding the brain to understand the signal , are all which can be used as enuresis prevention. Medicines are also administered, if any disorder is found during the investigation or urinalysis.
